On April 1, 2016, Main Street Yoga opened its doors at 228 Adams Street and packed the one-room space with some of the loveliest souls I’ve ever met. Over the years, our incredible community has seen us through high times and low (including a pandemic!) in the little space we’ve been lucky to call home.
People often comment on the “good energy” of our space on Adams Street. I agree that there is good energy there, and maybe some of that comes from the space itself, but most of it comes from the people who are there in the space. The most amazing people walk through our door! And I can’t say enough good things about our teachers who are wholeheartedly committed to the practice of yoga and to providing our students with the best possible experience each and every time they kick off their shoes and roll out their mats. So that “good energy” WILL be coming with us to our new home.
While leaving our current location is certainly bittersweet, I am so excited by all of the possibilities and amenities that our new space provides – a dedicated reception room, two practice studios, a relaxation room, and a restroom that isn’t right behind the teacher! One huge advantage is that we’ll be able to offer more workshops and trainings without disrupting our normal class schedule.
So where is this new space?
MSY is moving to 200 Fairmont Avenue. You might know it as “the old post office.” It’s a huge building that’s easy to miss because it sits back from the street up on a little knoll. Another advantage that this location offers is that it has its own parking lot (behind the building) and if the lot is full, there is free parking on 2nd Street (which is a one-way street) and on Gaston Avenue.
When coming to class, plan to arrive 10-15 minutes before class starts in order to give yourself plenty of time to park and check in. The entrance for MSY is located in the rear of the building - you’ll see a sign on a door on the right side of the loading dock. Once you’re in the building, follow the signs down the hallway to our door.
Keep an eye out for announcements about our grand opening. In the meantime, please help us spread the news! Invite your friends to come to class with you. Forward our emails. Share our social media posts. Comment on our posts (it organically boosts visibility). And react to our posts. (Did you know that hearts and wows increase visibility more than thumbs-up? It’s true!) A few seconds of your time can make a huge impact on a small business like ours.
I can’t thank you enough for being a part of our ever-growing community! And if you’re not yet a part of that community, what are you waiting for? We can’t wait to welcome you to your new yoga home!!
