I hope your summer is off to a great start! Summer is a weird time at the studio with holidays, vacations, and outdoor activities. So we’re always especially impressed by and grateful to those of you who continue to show up regularly despite irregular schedules.
With Independence Day coming up, our schedule next week is a little different, so check it out, and plan accordingly. We also have three really fun special events coming up: Kitten Yoga, an inversion workshop, and an arm balancing workshop. All three of these events are beginner-friendly, so there’s no need to be intimidated – just show up and enjoy yourself! You’ll get plenty of encouragement and support from your teacher and your fellow students.
Speaking of which, the sense of community at Main Street Yoga is something that continues to amaze me, even after all these years. I feel incredibly blessed by the gracious individuals who walk through our doors, happy to be there, gleefully greeting each other, contributing greatly to the uplifting energy of our space. I recently received this message from one of my students, and I have to admit that it brought a tear to my eye.
“Your yoga studio/school created a community. A community of teachers, students, and people who appreciate you and your gift. Your studio will continue to set the bar.”
For a while now, I’ve been thinking of and searching for more space for our community – something larger that would allow us to offer a greater variety of classes, trainings, and special events with a more accommodating schedule. And I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve found it! If all goes according to plan, Main Street Yoga will be moving to 200 Fairmont Avenue (“the old post office” and federal courthouse) on August 1st. This location offers us a reception room, two practice studios with giant windows and original hardwood floors, a relaxation room, multiple restrooms, and free parking! We’ll also be away from all the distracting noise and activity that is just outside our door on Adams Street.
One big opportunity that this new space creates for us is the ability to offer 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training, which will begin on October 7th! Main Street Yoga has been a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School since 2019. 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training at Main Street Yoga was born out of and designed around requests from our 200-Hour (basic yoga teacher training) graduates and from other RYT 200 teachers at our studio who express a desire to elevate their teaching and the practice of yoga by being more attentive and responsive to the immediate needs of their students and to design classes that are more meaningful and useful to their students. If you’re a yoga teacher with similar desires, please reach out to me. And if you know a yoga teacher who might fall into this category, please pass this information along!
Stay tuned for our official moving date announcement and sneak peaks of the new space. In the meantime, we’ll continue to see you in the lovely space that has served us well for over seven years now.
