Special Offerings This Weekend at Main Street Yoga!!

Happy Monday, yogis! I hope your week is off to a terrific start. I’m sure some of you might be thinking that the weekend is a long way off, but I assure you, it will be here before you know it. So I’m here to let you know about a few special offerings at Main Street Yoga this week.

First, Lauri was very sad that she had to cancel Beginners Qigong yesterday – so sad, in fact, that she has added an extra class this Friday at 6pm. If you haven’t tried this class yet, I urge you to do so. I absolutely love it, and I attend every chance I get. It’s the perfect complement to a yoga practice.

Next, on Saturday, I’m offering a “yoga lifestyle” workshop about how to cultivate balance in your life using the framework of the four pillars of health: diet, sleep, activity, and energy management. While modern life seems to be designed to shift us out of balance, it is possible – with just a few simple changes – to experience more satisfaction, clarity, and harmony in life. Join me to learn how!

Finally, on Sunday I’ll be offering an “asana” workshop that focuses on the Classic Sun Salutation and Sun Salutation B. What is asana? Asana (AH-sah-nuh) is a Sanskrit word that means posture. In modern yoga practice, we use it to refer to the poses we practice. What is a sun salutation? A sun salutation is the backbone of a vinyasa yoga practice. It's a flowing series of poses that is used to build heat, strength, and flexibility in the body and concentration in the mind. What will we do in the workshop? We’ll break down the mechanics of each pose in each sequence, exploring modifications and variations as well as different ways to safely transition from one pose to the next. We'll also learn how to properly incorporate the breath to make the flow easier and more beneficial. Only a few spots remain, so register now!
