Kriya Yoga: An Introduction to the Practical and Spiritual Benefits of Yoga, Meditation and Breathwork
October 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th
5:15 PM - 6:45 PM Eastern Time
Yoga is a process of self care and wellbeing. The practices of Kriya Yoga include regular meditation, pranayama (breathwork) and supportive yogic lifestyle recommendations. The result of consistent practice is often:
⦁ Greater peace of mind
⦁ The ability to navigate changing circumstances with grace
⦁ A healthier body
⦁ More patience and understanding
⦁ A deeper connection to the wholeness of life
In this 4-week series we will explore the practices of Kriya Yoga. We will focus on developing a solid and steady meditation practice. We will explore methods of pranayama, which serve to harmonize the life force within the body. We will also discuss the positive scientific effects that regular meditation and pranayama has on our mind and physiology.
Anyone can meditate and breathe. Anyone can begin to reclaim their own well-being through Yoga. With the right support, information and commitment to practice, you can fully engage the process of self care and wellbeing that is Yoga. It is our goal to share that with you in this series. (Note: This is not a hatha yoga class. The focus will be on lecture, and the practice of seated meditation and pranayama.)
Yoga is also deeply spiritual practice. It has the capacity to enrich one's spiritual life, no matter the tradition or religion one belongs to. For those interested, we will touch upon this aspect of Yoga as well.
