Yoga Nidra Training

Yoga nidra is an immensely powerful meditation technique and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. While the practitioner rests comfortably in savasana (corpse pose), this form of meditation systematically takes you through the pancha maya kosha (all five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of wholeness. Its immediate effects include deep relaxation and clarity of mind. But with consistent practice, Yoga Nidra can lead us to the bliss body and eventually to discovery of the true Self!

In contrast to more traditional forms of meditation, Yoga Nidra offers the following advantages to practitioners:

  • Anyone can practice it: All you need to do is lie on the floor or sit comfortably in a chair.

  • It's impossible to practice incorrectly: Simply follow the voice that is guiding you.

  • It's easy to incorporate into your daily life: Practice can be short and done any time of day.

  • It's a simple way to reduce stress: Even short practices calm the nervous system.

  • It can help you release long-held emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them.

Join us as we explore “yogic sleep,” discuss common misconceptions about the practice and discover its true purpose! This training is for anyone who would like to develop a personal practice as well as yoga teachers wanting to facilitate yoga nidra classes. RYTs can earn 7 CEUs with Yoga Alliance.
