According to the ancient yogis, the key to perfect health is aligning with the rhythms of nature. What better place to align with nature than a tropical paradise?
Our venue is an intimate beachfront location in Santa Teresa, a breathtaking white sand beach on the Pacific Ocean of Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula Blue Zone. Situated on four acres of an unspoiled tropical beach, you will find beautiful swimming areas and also outcroppings of rock where natural tide pools form.
Spend your nights in exquisitely-designed tropical bungalows, built with exotic hardwoods. Spend your days in the most pristine natural environment, surrounded by abundant tropical gardens under an old forest canopy, and experience the wildlife of Costa Rica right outside your window: howler monkeys, hummingbirds, iguanas, and bright flowering heliconias. Eat your meals, made with locally-sourced ingredients, at an open-air beachfront restaurant. Enjoy a leisurely pace with long walks on the beach and lounging in hammocks. And of course, enjoy two sessions of yoga and meditation each day.
Our primary objective will be to slow down and tune in to what our bodies are telling us. We’ll learn Ayurvedic practices that support the health of our bodies and mind. We’ll wake with the sunrise, and wind down as the sun sets. We’ll start each day sitting in silence as the sun begins to illuminate the world around us. We’ll enjoy an energizing all-levels vinyasa flow each morning and nourishing yin, restorative, or yoga nidra practice each evening, including Angela’s signature neck release with essential oils to help you drift off sleep. We’ll end each day marveling at the sunset over the Pacific. We’ll strip away any stress or sense of overwhelming.
Above all, you’ll be invited to make this retreat exactly what YOU need. All of Angela’s offerings are optional. If you prefer to sleep in rather than watch the sunrise, then that’s what you’ll do. If you prefer to read or visit the spa rather than practice yoga, then that’s what you’ll do. If slowing down isn’t your thing, take advantage of the numerous activities available at an additional cost: stand-up paddleboarding, surf lessons, horseback riding, hiking, snorkeling, zip-lining. Angela simply wants you to have the best experience possible.

LEADER- ANGELA HAMMOND
Angela Hammond is the owner of Main Street Yoga in Fairmont, West Virginia. As an E-RYT 200 and a Certified Yoga Health Coach, Angela’s greatest passion is leading others through guided transformation. At Main Street Yoga, she offers 200-hour yoga teacher training as well as a group health coaching program based on the ancient teachings of Yoga and Ayurveda. She teaches several vinyasa-style classes each week as well as beginners yoga, restorative yoga, and yin yoga. Her welcoming smile and relaxed approach keep her students coming back week after week.
Angela has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. Yoga found her in her mid-twenties when the last thing she wanted to do was exercise. It has been the one enduring activity in her life, outlasting aerobics, kickboxing, strength training, running, and even a couple of years of adult-league soccer. Over the years, her focus on yoga has shifted. It’s no longer just about the body. She understands yoga as a tool to access the deeper layers of the self. When Angela’s not in the studio, she enjoys spending time with her family as well as biking and other outdoor activities in her beautiful home state of West Virginia. She is currently pursuing her RYT 500 certification at Asheville Yoga Center and is enrolled in a 600-hour Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor program through Hale Pule.
