If you’ve been around a while, you know how things work. You ask, and we listen.
One thing we’ve been asked about a lot recently is payment for online classes. We’ve held off on requiring payment for online classes because yoga is more important than ever right now, and we want everyone to have access to our classes regardless of their ability to pay. However, our regular online students have asked for an easy and efficient way of paying their classes, so I’ve been working out a system to make it as simple as possible for everyone. And we’re totally going to baby-step our way into this, starting with my classes.
Beginning this coming Sunday, August 16th, each of my classes on our registration page will have two options: the regular in-studio class and the “Online Option.”
Notice that the “Online Option” shows a fee of $10.00. When you click on “Sign up,” you’ll be taken to a page that looks like this:
At the top of this page, notice “View Products/Packages.” If you click on that link, you can choose to purchase one of our two online class packages.
If you don’t purchase or have an existing package, you can choose to purchase the single class for $10. If you’ve already purchased a package, choose “Redeem Package,” and a box will appear where you can enter the code you received when you bought your package or (for those of us who are really bad about remember codes) you can simply enter your email address.
Once you apply your code (or enter your email address), you’ll see the following:
1. The number of hours remaining on your package,
2. Which classes they are good for,
3. The date your package expires, and
4. The question of whether or not you want to redeem your code for the appointment you’ve selected. If you do, click “Complete Appointment.”
After you click “Complete Appointment,” your screen will look like this:
If you click the URL, you’ll be taken to the link for the Zoom meeting. Of course, if you register well in advance (which I highly recommend and very much appreciate), you have the option of adding the class your iCal/Outlook or Google calendar. I love this option – joining the class is as simple as opening your calendar and clicking on the link. Of course, you’ll also receive an email with the link that you can use to access the class.
This is all a grand experiment! One that, I have to admit, makes me a bit nervous. If it works well with my classes through the week of August 16th, we will expand it to Jen’s and Paula’s online classes. Our pre-recorded classes will continue to be offered for free (donations are always very much appreciated).
If all goes swimmingly, we will expand this system payment system to include in-studio classes as well, as it will allow you to keep track of how many classes are remaining on your package!
If you have any questions or encounter any problems, please feel free to reach out to me at mainstreetyogafmt@gmail.com. If you want to continue practicing with us live online but cannot afford to pay, please contact me so that we can work something out. No one will be turned away due to a lack of funds.
Thank you so much for your support! I am deeply and eternally grateful for our community at MSY.
Namaste,
Angela
