Hello, Spring!!

This week, we welcomed spring with the vernal equinox and a super full moon. We see hints of spring in daffodils and crocuses. And while it might not look like much else is happening yet, there’s some serious rejuvenation happening underground that will cause leaves and flowers to burst forth any day now. Nature knows that in order to thrive, it needs the down time of winter. In the spring, it nurtures itself with rain that brings rebirth, renewal, and growth.

Despite the fact that, on the whole, human beings, especially those of us living in the “civilized” world, are more detached from nature than ever, our bodies are affected by the latent energy of spring. We long to shake off the dull, heavy feeling of winter. We sense an opportunity for a fresh, clean start. While many of us will engage in spring cleaning our homes, our bodies are also primed to lighten up, get rid of accumulated waste (or weight), correct imbalances, and rejuvenate our deepest tissues.

Yoga and Ayurveda provide us with ancient wisdom that helps us navigate the change of seasons. With this wisdom, we understand how to align ourselves with the dynamic rhythms of nature in order to support our bodies, minds, and spirits. This spring, Main Street Yoga is providing several opportunities for you to learn to align with the rhythm and quality of the season.

First up is Seasonal Thrive! I’m teaming up with Stacey and Paula for this 90 minute workshop that will teach you how to thrive through spring with yoga, Ayurveda, and essential oils. As the natural world emerges from its long winter slumber, it is common to experience a renewed sense of joy and inspiration. But for many, the spring season is also associated with colds, congestion, hay fever, and allergies. Thankfully, an appropriate seasonal routine can help us to overcome spring’s challenges while promoting optimal health so that we can truly celebrate the gifts this season has to offer.

Seasonal Thrive! takes place on Sunday, April 7th at 2 pm. Your registration fee of $37.50* covers printed yoga sequences for you to practice at home, printed information regarding foods and daily habits for seasonal and constitutional support, and an essential oil rollerball designed specifically for you. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Following Seasonal Thrive! I’ll be leading an online guided community cleanse I’ve (not so) cleverly called “Spring Cleaning.” The changing of seasons, especially at the equinoxes, is an ideal time to establish a state of balance, experience connection, and enjoy optimal health. Join me and the Body Wisdom group members as we rid the body and mind of winter stagnation, improve digestion, and promote peace of mind so that we can enjoy a healthy spring.

During this short and sweet cleanse, we’ll eat a simple diet that includes the foods that nature provides for us at this time of year. You’ll design your own meal plan based on the healthy foods you prefer to eat. We’ll learn practices that support our body’s ability to cleanse and detoxify itself. We’ll prioritize rest and relaxation.

Pre-registration is required. Your registration fee of $44* includes:
• 4 online meetings (via Zoom) with the “Spring Cleaning” group
(these will be recorded if you’re unable to attend live)
• A private Facebook group for support and sharing information
• One free restorative yoga class with me
• An audio recording of a yoga nidra guided meditation
• Lots of information that will assist you year-round
*Receive $5 off if you also attend the “Seasonal Thrive!” workshop. (Email mainstreetyogafmt@gmail.com to request an invoice.)

The dates are:

April 11th – Orientation Meeting
April 18th – Easing In Meeting
April 25th – Deep Dive Meeting
May 2nd – Emerging and Integrating Meeting

And if spring cleaning your house in an eco-friendly and/or energetic sort of way is high on your to-do list, join Paula and Jen for “Holistic House” on Saturday, April 13th at 5:30 pm. In this 90 minute workshop, Paula will teach you how to use essential oils to spring clean every corner of your home! This solution is not only natural, it is eco-friendly, economical, and greatly reduces the toxic load in your home! Then take your house cleaning one step further with an energetic cleanse! Jen will show you how to smudge your home to clear and cleanse the energy as well as how to use crystals to draw in positive, peaceful energy. Please pre-register so that Paula and Jen can prepare an appropriate amount of materials.

Please check out our website and Facebook for other upcoming events. As a reminder, the next round of Body Wisdom starts on April 10th. I’m booking free consultations this week! Contact me to schedule yours.

See you at the studio.
