Pain in the neck, shoulders and upper back can be caused by soft tissue injuries, but often it's the result of muscle tension caused by stress, poor posture, or looking downward for long periods (like we do when we look at our phones, tablets, and computers). Muscle tension in these areas is a leading cause of headaches.
In this workshop, you'll learn a little bit about the anatomy of the neck and shoulders as well as gentle, beginner-friendly yoga sequences that you can use to relieve current tension and discomfort while working toward resolving the issues that contribute to it. We'll also learn a couple of passive myofascial release techniques for relieving tension in the muscles of the neck, which can also help relieve tension headaches.
