108 Sun Salutations - Winter Solstice

Join Sam for 108 sun salutations to celebrate the winter solstice - the return of the sun!

The winter solstice celebrates the longest hours of darkness or the rebirth of the sun and is believed to hold a powerful energy for regeneration, renewal and self-reflection.

You may be wondering though, why 108 sun salutations? According to ancient yogis 108 as a number represents the wholeness of existence. This number also connects the Sun, Moon, and Earth. The average distance of the Sun and the Moon to Earth is 108 times their respective diameters. Such phenomena have given rise to many examples of ritual significance, one being the offering of 108 Sun Salutations.

We will be completing these in groups of 12. Challenge yourself by trying to complete all 108, or feel free to drop in and out as you wish. Modifications can also be taken as needed.

Cost is a regular class pass.
